Sulit Unlimited Internet for 3 or 5 Days (Sun)

In this time of work from home, Netflix chill, and Tiktok sensation, when you believed that unlimited internet no longer exist for the prepaid subscribers, I suddenly came across these two Sun Cellular unlimited internet promos. Yes, they are unlimited but with caveat. All along I thought that unlimited internet these days equals 800MB capping. So, when work from home becomes a necessity, I relied to the usual consumable data tricks that I am used to. But everyday participation to meetings using Zoom MS Teams, and Google Meet while streaming Youtube in the sideline, depleted my wallet for 1GB or 2GB data use each day. Arat na. Let me introduce to you the Non-Stop Surf 50 and the Unlimited Surf 100.

To add, I am using these promos in my openline modem B315S-936. You can also use this in your PLDT Home Prepaid Wifi using Sun SIM. You can also use a pocket wifi or simply use your phone as hotspot.

How to Register?
A. Non-Stop Surf 50 (Php50)
Provision:
From Sun Cellular website, Non-stop surf 50 is for Non-Stop surfing and 100MB open data access. But once registered, you can browse and download large files. However, you cannot watch Netflix using this promo (you might need a VPN to do this). No torrent download. If a site won't load, just turn off-on your modem.
Promo is valid for 3 days.
To register:
1. Send NONSTOP50 to 247 and wait for confirmation.

B. Unlimited Surf 100 (Php100)
Provision:
It was known in prints that this unlimited internet has 800MB cap per day under their FUP. Once 800MB usage is reached, your internet speed will throttle to 2G speed but speed will reset at 12AM of each day. But this is not so, once registered, you can watch Netflix, or  do anything you want in the internet except torrent downloading. Unlimited is real!
Promo is valid for 3 days.
To register:
1. Send UNLI100 to 247 and wait for confirmation.

Note that:
1. The promo is prone for SIM blocking especially the Non-Stop 50 if bandwith usage is abused. So better limit your daily use to 3-4 GB per day to avoid being blocked. Once blocked, you cannot access the internet thus forfeiting your remaining internet days from your registered promo. SIM unblocking every midnight is a case to case basis. Lucky if your SIM will unblock at midnight.
2. Better have a couple of Sun SIM in rotation for promo registration. In case your SIM is blocked, you have another SIMs at hand for new promo registration.
3. If you really need to download big files such as 20GB and above, expect SIM block. But you can still download them before your SIM becomes blocked. Sacrificing your SIM and remaining internet validity.

How to Turn ON Suncellular Load Protect (Surf Protect)?

My SunCellular Load Protect Issues
I was using Suncellular Lite PhP25 for three days unlimited internet as I mentioned in this SunCellular's 3Days Unlimited Internet for PhP25 post. The subscription is cheaper, right? But I cannot load more than PhP25 every registration because I cannot turn ON the Load Protect in my SunBroadband SIM.

What happens when I load more than PhP25? My Sun SIM consumes the remaining load even if the mentioned subscription is unlimited. Weird, right? This is because the Auto Connect Even When Roaming is enabled in my device. This setting lets me use the SMART signal (Sun's sister company) thus, the "roaming" to network and NOT the roaming we know about when we are abroad. And when it uses the SMART network, it charges my account for the "roaming" fee at the default rate of PhP5/15minutes. This is not quite fair. But still I prefer to surf while roaming with the SMART signal because the internet is way faster than the SUN signal. You can notice this once you started using SunBroadband SIM. The equation is like this: when the SUN signal is shown on your device, slow internet; when the SMART signal is in use, better internet speed.

Thus, the problem occurs when I am loading more than the amount I need to register. Sun sent me notifications that I have been charged PhP5/15minutes for accessing sites without data even if I am in unli subscription. My remaining load will be consumed and the notifications will only stop once my balance reaches zero. The pain of loading the exact amount on my part is that I have to go to the store every time I need to reload. This going to a retail store is strenuous unlike when I am just buying SunCellular prepaid load cards one time to load my account in the future. Another thing, the retail store charges me another Php2 for every load!

How to Activate the Sun Load Protect?
SunCellular's notification includes an info that I can turn the Load Protect in my SunCellular SIM by sending LOAD PROTECT to 2300. Yey but not yet! So, the trick to activate the Load Protect in your device is NOT sending LOAD PROTECT to 2300 because no matter how much load you have and how many times you'll try, it won't send (just failure). Maybe the keyword is intended only for Suncellular Prepaid users and not for SunBro users. You can try the keyword using a regular Suncellular prepaid SIM; if it did not work, try the guide below. Update: Send DATA OFF to 9999 instead. That will prevent internet charges to your SIM when you are accessing websites without an active data package. Thanks to an anonymous user below who provided us this keyword!

My Sun Load Protect Activation Guide
The workaround for activating the Surf/Load Protect feature in SunCellular/SunBroadband SIM card is to register and create an account in the SunCellular webpage for the SIM number. To do this:
1. Go to My Sun website (click) and enter your Sun SIM number in the box to continue. See pic above for reference.
2. It will detect that you still don't have a My Sun account and the page will prompt you to register.
3. Input your name and surname. Create a password, retype it at the last box and hit REGISTER.
4. A verification code will be sent to your number and you have to check your broadband device for the message.
5. Input the verification code in the box at the My Sun page and click OK. Now, your Sun SIM has a valid My Sun account!
6. Click the My Account at the upper right portion of the page. You will see the Surf Protect logo and the indicator that it is turned OFF. Click the indicator to turn it ON and a new window will pop-out.
7. Wait for the new window to fully load and enter your My Sun account password. Then, the pop-up window will disappear and your Surf/Load Protect is now enabled.

No more annoying data charges even if your account has extra load after registering to a Sun's promo! The feels of freedom!

Sun Cellular's 3Days Unli Internet for Only PhP25!

You read it right! For only PhP25.00 you got to have three days unlimited internet (with the exception of Youtube streaming and torrent downloading) from Sun Cellular. Well, it's a good deal already especially for those light internet users who uses their phone or their broadband stick to be connected in the social networks and the world wide web. This promo is available only using Sun Broadband SIM. So, if you haven't got one, you can buy it for only PhP15.00! Sun really suits our budget.

SUN, cellular, lite, load, broadband, sim, cheap, 3 days,
Sun's Lite load is available in various denominations. This PhP25 promo is the cheapest one among them all. I don't know why it was oddly ranged. To register, send LITE 25 to 247.
(Promo is no longer available, You can use NONSTOP50 for 3 days instead.)

I am using this promo in a pocket wifi with the following settings:
APN: minternet
No proxy and port.

If you are having trouble with the R icon appearing on your dashboard (that means Roaming and the SUN signal is weak in your area), it will use the SMART network instead so, you have to check the option box "Automatically connect even when roaming". Make sure you don't have any available balance in your SIM otherwise it will be consumed as a regular load. (Update: You can now prevent the accidental consumption of your extra load using this workaround on turning ON your Sun SIM's Load Protect)

Other keywords send to 247 also.
LITE 15 - PhP15.00 for 1 day
LITE 50 - PhP50.00 for 5 days (PhP10/day)
LITE 100 - PhP100.00 for 7 days. (PhP14/day)

*Note: Signal strength is area dependent. So the upload and download speed may vary.
